"A Medieval Sunrise" - Brass Band

"A Medieval Sunrise" is based upon the medieval sequence "Victimae Pascháli Láudes", prescribed for the Catholic Mass on Easter Sunday. The three main sections in the piece are differentiated by meter changes, switching between a steady simple meter in the beginning and at the end, and a triple meter in the middle section.
"A Medieval Sunrise" was commissioned by Vestnes og Daugstad/Vike skulekorps (Norway), and became the winning performance on the Norwegian School Band Championships 2021, 2nd division.
