The "Jubilee" concert march was commissioned by Vestnes Musikklag (Norway) for their 125th anniversary. The bright and joyful character of this piece reflects its cheerful raison d’être.
The main melody, which starts in bar 28, is based on the folk song "Jeg gaar i tusind Tanker" from Vestnes, one of many folk songs in the rich tradition of the Romsdal region.
